Undergraduate candidates must be admitted to a Georgia State undergraduate teacher education program, have a 2.5 undergraduate GPA and hold a pre-service teacher certificate. Candidates in the B.S.Ed. Elementary Education, B.S.Ed. Birth Through Five and B.S.Ed. Middle Level Education program are admitted into the program upon admission to their major. Candidates in other undergraduate teacher education programs may apply to add on the endorsement by applying to the College of Education & Human Development’s Office of Academic Assistance.
Graduate candidates must be certified teachers or be admitted to a Georgia State initial teacher preparation program and hold a pre-service certificate. Pre-service teachers in the M.A.T. in Elementary Education are admitted into the Urban Education Endorsement upon acceptance to their degree programs. Other candidates may apply to add on the endorsement by applying to this program.
When applying to the Urban Education Endorsement, you will need to submit several documents for review.
