The Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Textiles program emphasizes professional skills and achievements and fosters personal direction, diversity, technical proficiency and professional presentation. The Textiles program offers a highly progressive curriculum that considers Textiles as a broad-based practice while providing a strong foundation in the history of the discipline and fostering technical mastery of the material. The individual direction of each student is further developed and focused through intensive time in the studio, group interaction across disciplines and periodic critical reviews. Sensitive handling of material, the integrity of craftsmanship and depth of inquiry are the unifying characteristics of work made in the Textiles M.F.A. program. The program emphasizes group seminars and critiques to provide a variety of settings for the development and exchange of ideas relevant to the arts in general and textiles in particular. In the final two semesters of the graduate program, the student completes a thesis exhibition and writes a supporting thesis paper. A strong component of the graduate program involves assistantships in either studio work or in teaching undergraduate-level courses. Students may teach a variety of courses during their studies, from Foundations to Intermediate Textiles. These experiences in conjunction with the acquisition of professional skills such as resume writing, job application skills and self-promotion prepare the student with the tools to be a professional artist once studies are complete.

Trustworthy AI is a new and fast-growing field that combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning with cybersecurity and privacy, two of the most in-demand subfields of computer science. The complex nature of AI systems creates important challenges such as safety, security, privacy, fairness and ethics that must be addressed to ensure their trustworthiness which in turn will help accelerate their adoption for economic growth and future innovations. This fully online graduate certificate program is designed primarily for working professionals who want to advance their careers. This is a unique program, one of the few of its kind in the nation. In addition to machine learning and deep learning, online courses will cover topics such as robustness, reliability, security, privacy, fairness, accountability, transparency and ethics in AI systems. Students will gain knowledge and skills in trustworthy development, testing and deployment of AI systems. Join Georgia State's urban studies master’s program for a deep dive into these urban phenomena: inclusive development, transit, economic resilience or environmental sustainability. Offering an interdisciplinary perspective on urban studies, students follow a core trajectory of shared courses and have the freedom to specialize by individually selecting from a large offer of elective courses. Students work with a faculty advisor throughout their studies and have the opportunity to join the Urban Studies student association with like minded peers. Our flexible degree structure enables students to explore the issues and concerns shaping their interest in urban studies – from gentrification, community development, and transport equity to climate change, global pandemics, and the future of the suburbs – through a variety of perspectives. The M.A. program in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies has three interrelated areas of concentration: Globalization Sexuality studies Social change Our curriculum stands out for its emphasis on the intersections of gender and sexuality with race, nationalisms, ethnicity and transnationalism. We have a strong emphasis on queer theory and LGBTQ studies and the theory and practice of activism. One distinction of our program is that students may complete one of three different kinds of theses: Research Thesis: an originally researched topic that contributes to a new area of gender and sexuality studies scholarship Creative Thesis: creative project in the arts, such as a play, an art exhibit or mixed-media work Action Research Thesis: an internship with a local social justice-oriented organization or other form of community and/or activist engagement

This online graduate program is for multilingual students who are seeking a master’s degree with an initial teaching certification in a world/ foreign language such as Chinese, French, German, Korean or Spanish (grades kindergarten through 12th grade). The Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in World Languages Education leads to a teaching degree with a clear and renewable (T5) induction certificate in Georgia with a step advance on the pay scale above the (T4) certification only. The interdisciplinary nature of this program affords the opportunity to explore multidisciplinary teaching with the possibility to pursue an endorsement (ESOL, DLI, Urban Education) or to deepen your mastery of the target language and cultures. This program integrates principles of social justice and equity and is grounded in educational theory, research and best teaching practices. Throughout the program, students take specialized education and content courses and gain practical experience in kindergarten through 12th grade teaching. Faculty support teacher candidates in planning, instruction, assessment and reflection with colleagues, faculty and partner schools who are committed to excellence in education.
