Office of the President
Dear university community,
Governor Brian Kemp extended Georgia’s shelter-in-place order until April 30, and he also extended the declaration of a public health state of emergency in Georgia until May 13.
The Governor’s actions reinforce the importance of staying home whenever possible, as well as the need to continue to provide essential services to the citizens of the state. As such, they do not change the status and operations of Georgia State.
I continue to be inspired by the commitment, determination and resilience being demonstrated by our Georgia State community in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty and staff have done an extraordinary job of transitioning to remote teaching and working, and students’ high level of engagement in their learning while at a distance once again highlight the grit and determination for which Georgia State students are so highly regarded.
We can be optimistic about the future because we know Georgia State always adapts and finds innovative ways to create a better world. Thank you.
