We are honored to have the most diverse institution in the University System of Georgia. With this honor comes the responsibility to provide programs, activities, and services that will encourage the members of our community to maximize on this diverse environment.
When considering the role of our office in the support of the university mission, we believe our charge is to offer opportunities for individuals to broaden their conventional definition of diversity to include the concept of intercultural relations. The difference between the terms being that the former acknowledges the differences between us and the latter seeks to discover and strengthen the similarities among us.
Our program strives to offer intercultural education that allows everyone to embrace and learn from others. In addition, the office provides diversity programs and activities that reflect contributions to the social, cultural and academic climate of the university and the community at large.

The Intercultural Relations program at Georgia State University strives to create a healthy multicultural environment on campus and serve as a common ground for students from different social and cultural backgrounds. It seeks to enhance students' understanding and respect for diversity and hence create an overall educational experience.
