EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER

The Georgia State University Educational Opportunity Center provides information regarding financial aid and academic assistance for adults who want to pursue post-secondary education.  The Center assists individuals in applying for admission to institutions that offer programs of post-secondary education, including preparing necessary applications for use by admissions and financial aid officers.

The Educational Opportunity Center provides the following services:

• Academic and Career Assessments (COPS)
• Help selecting and enrolling in colleges, universities and state technical/vocational schools.
• Assistance finding and filing for financial aid including FAFSA on -the-web
• Help with Defaulted Student Loans
• Referral to appropriate GED, SAT, GMAT, GRE & TOEFL
• Free Basic Computer Classes & Computer Based Training in Microsoft 2002:     WORD, ACCESS, EXCEL, & POWERPOINT
• Classes are held by appointment
• Individual and group counseling sessions
• Referrals to other agencies when needed
