Placement

The GSTEP is a diagnostic test given to non-native speakers of English in order to determine the level of English language proficiency prior to enrollment in academic courses. The GSTEP is given to all incoming international students during International Student Orientation and is a prerequisite for registration in classes. Scores on this test are used for placement and are not released to examinees.  If the GSTEP was taken as part of the application process, this requirement is waived.  Applicants who do not meet minimum language proficiency requirements will be referred to the Intensive English Program (IEP).
