What's On WRAS?
WRAS features a diverse lineup of programming. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all 365 days of the year. The programming is divided into four areas:
Regular rotation: an up-to-date mix of indie-rock, indie-pop, electronica and hip-hop music. Album 88 derives its name from the fact that it does not emphasize singles, but a variety of cuts from the various artists that are in regular rotation.
Speciality shows: These 1-4 hour blocks are dedicated to specific genres of music ranging from local music, to soundtrack music, to blues/jazz, to instrumental hip-hop, to indie-rock, to electronica and beyond. A full description of WRAS speciality shows is found at: http://www2.gsu.edu/~www885/specialty.html.
Informational: WRAS features student-read news updates during its weekday broadcasts. These 5-10 minute updates occur at top-of-the-hour backtracks. Additionally, the WRAS news department presents The Hub every Wednesday from 3-4pm—profiling a variety of news stories and events. Additionally, the station features syndicated informational programs Radio Dialogue (Monday 10-10:30am), With Good Reason (Tuesday, 10-10:30am) and the Commonwealth Club of California (Wednesday 10-11am).
Athletics: WRAS broadcasts all GA State football and men’s and women’s basketball games as well as selected baseball games. For more information on Georgia State Athletics, visit http://www.georgiastatesports.com/.
