Phases of Competition
All Contestants are judged in the following areas:
- Private Interview
The panel of judges will privately interview each contestant. The interview will consist of a 10 minute Q&A, and contestants will be given 30 seconds to close the interview. Please wear business appropriate attire. Questions will include social issues, information provided by each contestant on her resume and current events. 25% of total score. - Swimsuit
Contestants will model either a 1 or 2 piece swimsuit. No string bikinis or thongs. Each contestant can choose to wear shoes or walk barefoot. Contestants are judged on physical fitness, poise, confidence and fit of swimwear. 15% of total score. - Talent
Each contestant has a maximum of 90 seconds to perform a talent. Talents may include, but are not limited to: singing, dance, instrument performance, monologue, etc. Vocalists are encouraged to have background music but their music may NOT have the lyrics in the track. Tap dancers may not use music with the sound of taps in their track. Contestants playing instruments may have background music. However, it should not overshadow their playing, but compliment it. 35% of total score. - Evening Wear
Contestants will model evening wear attire and will be judged on grace, confidence, poise and fit of gown/evening attire. 20% of total score. - On-Stage Question
Each contestant will be asked 1 question on stage and will be judged on her ability to answer the question, stage presence and delivery. 5% of total score.
