The Division Welcomes 3 New Doctors To The Team
Is There A Doctor In The House?
The Division of Student Affairs is widely known for its
extremely talented staff members.
Through the Board of Regents TAP program, employees are able to continue
their education while working for the university. Within the Division of
Student Affairs alone there are many employees taking classes days, nights and
weekends in pursuit of fulfilling a personal goal. These goals range anywhere
from the desire to learn a second language to the dream of one day becoming a
doctor.
Matthew Robison and Pamela Anthony began pursuing their Ph.D.s
in Educational Policy Studies at Georgia State University in 2006 followed
shortly by Marilyn De LaRoche who began working towards her Ed.D. in Higher
Education Management from the
University of Georgia.
All three candidates worked diligently to complete their
studies while continuing to work full-time for Georgia State University in
their current positions as Director of Housing (De LaRoche) and Assistant Deans
(Anthony and Robison).
After many years of hard work, all three candidates
successfully defended their dissertations within a 10-day period in November of
2011 welcoming three new doctors to the staff of the Division of Student
Affairs.
These recent successes are a testament to what one can accomplish
with hard work and perseverance. We look forward to the upcoming achievements
of the numerous capable staff within the Division of Student Affairs.
