How long have you been working at Georgia State University?
I began working at the Student*University Center in November 2005 as an Accounting Student Assistant while finishing my degree. Beginning July 2008, I began full time as an Accountant.
What do you do on a typical day?
I assist the Business Manager on a multitude of fiscal tasks related to the Student*University Center operations and its units, which includes Campus Events, Spotlight Programs Board, and Student Activities. Specifically, I internally coordinate the procurement card program and aid in its compliance and supervise student assistants. I assist with ensuring efficient and effective internal controls through monthly reconciliations and reviews of revenue, expenses and payroll for the Student*University Center and its units amongst many other duties.
What is your background?
I received a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Accounting from Georgia State University.
What do you do when you're not at work?
I like to read and cook.
What's your favorite thing in your office?
A photograph while on vacation at the Grand Canyon.
What don't people know about you?
I was born in Jamaica and grew up in a sleepy town of New Hampshire, with lots of fresh air, strawberry festivals, county fairs, dairy farms and maple syrup!
If you weren't working at Georgia State, what would your ideal job be?
I would probably be a Clinical Dietician or an organic farmer.
