Title: Division HR Officer

Family: Lives with partner Donna in Stone Mountain. We have one son, two cats and one dog.

How long have you been working at Georgia State University? Almost 5 years.

What do you do on a typical day? I am still in search of a typical day. Most days I review applications, met with supervisors regarding various HR issues, create a newsletter monthly, conduct orientations and training sessions and attend lots of meetings. I have been involved with Staff Council for the past 3 years and have recently been elected Chair.

What is your background? I have a B.A. from the University of Connecticut in Urban Studies and a M.S. degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Political Science. Earlier in my career I worked with the Section 8 Housing Program. I started as a Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator but through many promotions I end that part of my career as Director of Administration before switching over HR full-time.

What do you do when you're not at work? I work in my vegetable garden, sing with two different groups, and read books on my front porch.

What's your favorite thing in your office? I don't have a lot of personal stuff in my office. However, I do have a name plate that was a graduation gift from my undergraduate days. It is not a favorite but it has been at every job I have had in the almost 20 years since I graduated.

What don't people know about you? That I am a member of the Philip David Hill Singers. The CD Lovely was released in December of 2010. You can get this CD through iTunes or Digstation.

If you weren't working at Georgia State, what would your ideal job be? I would be a farmer.
