Staff Council is dedicated to providing service and fostering effective communication within the University community to make Georgia State University the best possible place to work.
The Staff Council is a representative body that works year-round on staff concerns as part of the university's decision-making processes. Staff Council members serve on a variety of council and university committees to help improve communication between the administration and staff, and to improve various aspects of working life at Georgia State.
The committee coordinates revision of the Bylaws and coordinates all nominations and elections procedures.
The committee works to enhance the quality of life on campus for Georgia State employees and students by focusing on the university's impact on the local and global environment.
The committee promotes the activities of the council and contributes to ongoing communications initiatives of the council.
The committee plans, organizes, and executes participation in various university and council events.
The Executive Committee consists of the Board of Officers, the chairs of standing committees, and the staff senators.
The committee promotes training and advancement programs and other opportunities for professional and personal development.
The committee investigates formal and informal means of recognizing the achievements of staff members and administers the Staff Scholarship Fund.
