Title: Facilities Coordinator for the University Library
Family: I live in Atlanta with my wife Dainya and our three children; Ian, Hayden and Addison.
How long have you been working at Georgia State University? I’ve worked for Georgia State for ten years. I started working as a library student assistant in 2001.
What do you do on a typical day? My job revolves heavily around people. I spend my days communicating with campus facilities personnel, resolving library staff issues, coordinating with private contractors and working with my own team in the building and in the stacks.
What is your background?
I’m originally from New Jersey. I moved to Atlanta for school and graduated from Georgia State with a BBA in Human Resources in 2005. Before working on campus I was a supervisor at United Parcel Service for four years.
What do you do when you're not at work?
I spend a lot of time with my family. I really enjoy spending time with my wife and I have fun playing with my kids and teaching them new things. I like the outdoors and enjoy biking, hiking and camping. Lately I seem to be doing a lot of yard work.
What's your favorite thing in your office?
I love that the Georgia State campus is downtown. I grew up right outside of New York City and have always enjoyed being in an urban environment. There is always so much going on.
What don't people know about you?
I’ve been an avid snowboarder for 19 years. My wife and I bought a home in a downtown neighborhood about two years ago.
If you weren't working at Georgia State, what would your ideal job be?
I’m not sure about ideal but I’ve always thought it would be cool to work as a national park service ranger in a park like Yosemite.
