Committees

Much of the activity of the Staff Council is carried out or proposed by the organization's standing committees. The committees play an important role in ensuring the soundness of university policies and procedures that have a major effect on staff. In a few cases, Council committees have primary responsibility for the execution of university processes (e.g., Staff Scholarship Award selection process). In most cases, however, committees fulfill the council mission by working collaboratively with other Council committees and with offices and groups throughout the university community and beyond.

 

Administrative

The committee coordinates revision of the Bylaws and coordinates all nominations and elections procedures.

Campus Sustainability

The committee works to enhance the quality of life on campus for Georgia State employees and students by focusing on the university's impact on the local and global environment.

Communication

The committee promotes the activities of the council and contributes to ongoing communications initiatives of the council.

Community Relations

The committee plans, organizes, and executes participation in various university and council events.

Executive

The Executive Committee consists of the Board of Officers, the chairs of standing committees, and the staff senators.

Staff Development & Advancement

The committee promotes training and advancement programs and other opportunities for professional and personal development.

Staff Recognition

The committee investigates formal and informal means of recognizing the achievements of staff members and administers the Staff Scholarship Fund.

Work-life

The committee works to enhance the quality of work life for university employees.
