Title:
Media Utilization Specialist for the Student*University Center
Family:
My mother is a kindergarten teacher, and my father is glass blowing teacher. I have a sister who is a senior in high school. She’s starting the college application process. My brother is in Colorado pursuing a master’s mechanical engineering.
How long have you been working at Georgia State University?
As a student, since 2007. I came back in the summer of 2010 as an employee.
What do you do on a typical day?
I wear many hats. I help prepare setup details for the student staff as well as maintain equipment. I personally set up and run A/V equipment for large events. We schedule student workers for each event and I’m on call for any problems.
What is your background?
I was a music major at GSU with a concentration in music recording technology. I’m still active in mixing and recording music.
What do you do when you're not at work?
Three days a week, I work with a studio in Gwinnett County. I also play music for fun – bass and guitar.
What's your favorite thing in your office?
A drum stick left by a client. It’s in my pencil holder.
What don't people know about you?
I enjoy photography as a hobby, especially black & white photos of architecture. I like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston’s work.
If you weren't working at Georgia State, what would your ideal job be?
I would probably have a small recording studio in Yosemite National Park - record music for clients and take photographs as well.
