What is your title? Career Counselor, Robinson College of Business Career Management Center

Would you like to share a little about your immediate family or family history?  I am from West Virginia and have been in Atlanta for 4 years. I am the middle child of three children, all girls. Both of my sisters live here in Atlanta.

How long have you been working at Georgia State University?  3 years and 6 months

What do you do on a typical day? My days vary depending on my students. My daily routine consists of reviewing student resumes online, meeting with students to discuss career plans, and helping students prepare for job search, interviews, and events.

What is your background? I have a BBA in Management Information Systems, a MS in Training and Development, and am currently pursuing an Ed. D in Organizational Leadership. I have 4 years of corporate Human Resources experience and 5 ½ years of Higher Education experience in Career Services.

What do you do when you are not at work? When I am not at work I am spending time with my family. One of my hobbies is reading. I love to read. I am also a nature person, so I do enjoy doing things outside.

What is your favorite thing in your office? My favorite thing in my office is a picture my younger sister gave me for my 28th birthday. It has the meaning of my name on it. It draws a lot of attention when my students come in to meet with me. 

What don’t people know about you? A few things people do not know about me is I have bunjee jumped three times and despite my obsession with keeping my hair neat, I love to swim.

If you weren’t working at Georgia State, what would your ideal job be?  If I were not working at Georgia State, my ideal job would be a Radiologist. I have always been intrigued by radiology.
