Leadership: I was one of seven who were elected across Georgia to serve as a State Student Officer for Georgia Thespians. We planned and executed a conference for over 4,000 attendees. Also, I am a member of Phi Mu-Theta Beta Fraternity. When I was going through my Provisional New Memeber phase, I was elected as the Academic Exellence Chair of our new pledge class. Then, once initiated as a new sister, I was elected Academic Excellence Chair of our entire chapter. I was crowned Miss Starr’s mill 2011.
Platform: As a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences, I would like to make it my job to communicate the word of the students. It is important to me that they are aware of the many opportunities available to them. Georgia State University is often stereotyped as a “commuter school.” For some people it is, but for others, Georgia State is home. I would like to aid the incoming students in understanding that community life is available to them here at Georgia State. This is the biggest change I would like to see within the school. Student involvement is key to getting the most out of ones college education and I want students to understand that they should not let any opportunities pass them by.
