Sandra I. Chumba

Leadership: During my high school years I was a senior representative for the student government Association and I was also an officer for philosophy club. As a senior representative my job was to be the voice of the senior class by collecting their ideas of what events should be held for them and informing the administrator of the school. I also planned the senior events, made flyers and arranged for meetings. As an officer for philosophy club I organized for meetings, publicized the event and lead discussions during meetings.

Platform: When I have a chance to make a difference in the community; I always take advantage of it because I believe opportunity knocks once at every mans door. Being in SGA in high school made me realize that I am passionate about the different objectives and obstacles SGA members tackle to serve the students. As a freshman, I bring a unique perspective to work. Being a senator is a big responsibility, but big things are possible and I’m anxious to work on them along with the other SGA members. Three primary goals I would like to work on as a senator are: Be a voice of the students out there, help the students at GA state to be more well rounded during their college career and finally increase our membership so that we can be all working together to provide a valuable service for the student body. I plan to accomplish this with the help of all the branches of the SGA. As voice of the student population I hope to achieve my goals for the betterment of this community. I would be honored to serve to further the mission of SGA and advocate for the voice of the entire student population here ate Georgia State.
