Leadership: Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to serve in positions that allowed me to grow through on campus involvement. Currently, I am serving as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs in SGA. I have also gained leadership experience as a 1913 Society Ambassador, Inceptor, and Vice president of my Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma, along with other organization.
Platform: As President of Student Government Association, I plan to implement several new initiatives, and improve upon current polices within Student Government. Internally, I would like to increase the rate in which we fill vacant seats in the Senate, maximize the Senators role, and create a stronger bond with the members in Student Government so that we will able to work productivity in the workplace. Externally, I would like to increase our presence on campus (and at campus events), improve upon the way we interact with students, and to create an environment where we can receive constant feedback from students. I would like to create an event where every month or so we host “town hall meetings” open to the GSU Community to provide feedback to representatives. This will show that as Student Government we hear the concerns and we are working to address them. Additionally, we will continue our focus on main student issues, such as parking and registration issues.
