Student Government Association

Welcome to Georgia State University’s Student Government Association (SGA). The Student Government Association is the official voice for the entire student population at Georgia State. The Student Government Association is both honored and privileged to have the opportunity to promote the interests of the students to the University community. We, the popularly elected representatives, accept our charge to maintain and improve the student experience at Georgia State University through policy rather than programming.

Student Government Association is divided into three equal branches. The Executive Branch is headed by the SGA President. Known as the SGA Executive Board, it serves as an administrative committee for the Student Government. The legislative powers of the Student Government are invested in the SGA Senate led by the SGA Executive Vice President. Finally, the Student Judicial Board headed by the student Chief Justice serves as the SGA’s judicial branch.

This year our ambition to put students first will require a concerted effort by the Senators, a cohesion among the Executive Board, and coordination with you, the student. If you are interested in volunteering or having your organization co-host an event please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your time and consideration, GO STATE!
