My academic plan is to graduate Georgia State University in the spring of 2012 with my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, my Bachelor of Science in Public Policy with a dual concentration in Public Management & Governance and Nonprofit Leadership, a certificate in International Business, and an American Humanics certificate. My long-term aspiration is to become a Foreign Service Officer.

Since starting Georgia State University, I have made long-term time commitments to the Jean Childs Young Institute for Youth Leadership as an office assistant, to Big Brother Big Sister as a mentor, and to the Office of Civic Engagement as a student helping my fellow classmates become aware of volunteer opportunities on campus and in the community. I have also participated in Alternative Spring Break/Panther Breakaway, neighborhood clean-up, Trick-or-Treat Fest, Project Feedback, Relay for Life, and numerous other projects. Within this upcoming year I plan to expand philanthropic work in the community by tutoring math at the Gateway Center to prepare rehabilitated homeless individuals for the GED.

Dana Goldman

I started at GSU in Summer 2009, and am working toward a master's degree in the professional counseling program. I've worked as a teacher and writer, and have spent a lot of time exploring issues around transportation and homelessness in Atlanta. In the Office of Civic Engagement, I'll be updating the website, coordinating some activities, and generally trying to be as helpful as possible.
