Civic Engagement
Welcome to the Office of Civic Engagement! Our focus is on connecting students, staff, and faculty with meaningful community involvement. Let us help you explore the possibilities!
- Drop in to our office and talk with our staff. We can tell you about everything from upcoming events to work-study at nonprofits. Visit our office at 320 Student Center or call us at (404) 413-1550.
-
Log on to Volunteer Solutions to search for service opportunities based on your passion, schedule, and location. You can create a personalized profile, receive opportunities by email, and post journal responses about your experiences. (As you log hours, you'll also be entered to win rewards.)
-
Meet like-minded students. Join a student group that focuses on service. From Circle K to our Habitat for Humanity chapter, these clubs offer regularly-scheduled activities and will put you in good company.
-
Ready to volunteer? If you have specific dates in mind for volunteering this month, visit the Pouncin' Around calendar using the link to the left. Or come in to our office to browse through opportunities. Or look online through Volunteer Solutions or our blog!
- Join students of different faiths and nonfaith and take part in service projects with the Interfaith Initiative!
We're looking forward to seeing you out and about!
Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
