Lovell Lemons

Lovell Lemons currently serves as Director of the Office of Civic Engagement at Georgia State University. In this position, he leads the office in engaging students in service to the greater Atlanta community. Prior to assuming the duties of director, Lovell was the assistant director of Cooperative Education and an employment counselor in Career Services at the University.

Lovell received both his B.S. in Education and his Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. He currently serves on The Wesley Foundation board.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of Project Healthy Grandparents.

Lovell is Past-President of the Council of Volunteer Administrators of Metro Atlanta. In 2002, he was appointed to the Georgia Commission on Service and Volunteerism as a Commissioner by then-Governor Roy Barnes. He serves as advisor to student service organizations: Circle K International, Colleges Against Cancer and Economic Empowerment Initiative.

Lovell believes in practicing what he preaches, so he invites you to join him and other Georgia State students as they reach out to the greater Atlanta community.

 

Kelli Vincent

Kelli Vincent joined the Office of Civic Engagement as the Student Affairs Advisor in fall 2008. She works with Georgia State students, faculty, and staff to connect the Georgia State community with the city of Atlanta. Kelli also serves as the advisor for several student organizations, coordinates service opportunities, and is responsible for annual service recognition ceremonies. With a passion for service and working with college students, Kelli is excited about the opportunity to get more Georgia State students involved in the variety of programs and organizations offered through the Office of Civic Engagement.

 

Gillian Ruland

Gillian Ruland joined the Office of Civic Engagement as Administrative Coordinator in fall 2010.  Originally from upstate New York, she completed a double major in Anthropology and Creative Writing as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Oswego.  She received her Master’s in Applied Anthropology from Georgia State University in May 2010 after conducting ethnographic research and completing her thesis on the sociality of women in a local knitting group. Gillian is passionate about service, as evidenced by her two years of national service with AmeriCorps. She is excited about the opportunity to work for her alma mater and help engage university students in their community.
