Books for Africa Drive
The Books for Africa program is a textbook drive program to provide books for African students. Books for Africa has sent millions of books to 23 African countries, such as Botswana, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Somalia.
The first Books for Africa drive at Georgia State was held in the fall of 2003. The Office of Civic engagement partnered with Campus Community Outreach and Books for Africa to organize the event. During the week-long event, Georgia State University students, with the help of the Knowledge Ciphers, African Students Association, and Sankofa Society gathered over 1,200 books to ship to Africa.
The Books for Africa program has continued to be a successful program here at Georgia States University.
The Books For Africa week for this fall semester will be from December 1st through the December 8th. Everyone is invited to be apart of this event.
