A leading research university in Atlanta, Georgia

About

Several hundred scholarships exist at Georgia State University to help deserving students finance their educational dreams. The two main types of awards available are merit-based and need-based. Merit-based scholarships are awarded based on academic criteria (GPA and standardized test scores), as well as extra-curricular involvement, demonstrated leadership, and service to the community. Financial need-based scholarships are awarded based on information Georgia State receives from the federal government through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In some cases, scholarships consider both merit and need.

To help students search for scholarships, our online application and scholarship database pre-screens eligibility by several main criteria: student type (incoming or currently enrolled), student level (undergraduate or graduate), enrollment status (full-time or part-time), residency status (in-state, out-of-state, or international), major, and cumulative GPA. When students log in using their campus ID (i.e. jdoe14), a list of scholarships will appear for which the student may be eligible. Students also have the ability to search all scholarships in the directory through key words, college and major. Get started with the log-in box to the right, or browse the Scholarships listings through the Search for Scholarships link on the right.
