The Scholarship Resource Center was established at Georgia State University in 2011. We offer guidance and support to students seeking financial assistance by providing year-long promotion of scholarship opportunities. We are open to all Georgia State University students regardless of financial aid eligibility status.

We offer free resources to assist you with locating scholarships.

  • Conduct online scholarship searches and review our internal catalogs
  • Sign up to receive e-mail alerts of scholarships with impending deadlines

  • Receive personalized writing assistance by appointment for personal essays

Our staff can assist you with any scholarship-related questions that you may have about the application process, whether you are applying for an internal or external scholarship. Our workshops are designed to provide you with assistance and guidance throughout the application process.

Our workshops are designed to provide you with assistance and guidance throughout the application process.  Our workshops are open to all Georgia State University students and advance registration is not required.  New dates are added to our calendar on a regular basis, please check our calendar periodically. 

Searching and Applying for Scholarships
This workshop covers the basics of searching and applying for scholarships, how college funding works, adhering to timelines, and enhancing researching skills.

Writing a Winning Personal Essay
This workshop unlocks the secrets of what sets a scholarship winner apart from thousands of candidates — the personal essay! Learn how to create a winning essay by avoiding common mistakes, understanding what the judges want to see, and reviewing winning essays and essays that failed. If you have already written a personal essay that needs work, don't be afraid to bring it!
