Train the Trainers
These workshops are conducted over 4-6 hours. The goal of these trainings is to prepare individuals to conduct ally workshops and LGBTQIQ Exploration Workshops.
What are Safe Zone State Workshops?
Safe Zone State workshops are training sessions to examine attitudes and beliefs, raise awareness, build skills, and offer resources for individuals seeking information on LGBTQIQ issues. While going through a Safe Zone State training program, participants will be educated and informed on many different issues affecting the LGBTQIQ community. Safe Zone State uses a variety of teaching styles to convey this information. Participants will engage in an interactive session which includes ice breakers, role-plays, lectures, and diversity exercises.
Who are Safe Zone State Allies?
An ally is usually a member of the dominant or majority group who works to end oppression in his or her private and professional life through support of and as an advocate for oppressed populations.
What does it mean to be an Ally?
Allies are open to questions from and about the LGBTQIQ community and support policies that bring equality to this community.
