Narrative:

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents is not only free from undue influence from political, religious, or other external bodies, but it also protects Georgia State University from such influence.  The BOR Policy Manual (Section 1901) states that “The Board of Regents is unalterably opposed to political interference or domination of any kind or character in the affairs of any institution in the University System of Georgia.” [1] Additionally, the “Code of Ethics for Government Service” (State of Georgia Code Sections 45-10-1 [2], 45-10-20 [3], and 45-10-22 [4]), which prohibits such influence applies to all elected and appointed public officials of the State of Georgia, including the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.
