2.3 Chief Executive Officer

Narrative:

As specified by the USG BOR Bylaws (Section VI), each institution within the university system will have a president.  [1] That president will be “the executive head of the institution and all its departments and shall exercise such supervision and direction as will promote the effective and efficient operation of the institution.” Each institution president is elected by the BOR. [2] By contrast, the presiding officer of the BOR is the BOR Chair. The two offices are different roles held by different persons. The 2007-2008 BOR Chair is Allan Vigil. [3] The current President of Georgia State University is Dr. Carl V. Patton.
