Shari PiotrowskiI am the University Registrar. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and a Master’s degree from Syracuse University’s College of Education.
Prior to my arrival at Georgia State University, I worked for nine years as the Registrar for Onondaga Community College, part of the State University of New York, and prior to that for 15 years at Syracuse University primarily as a Registrar and Bursar for Continuing Education.
During my tenure here at Georgia State University, my staff and I have worked on a variety of initiatives to improve services for staff, faculty, and students and will continue to do so. Our goal is to work with others to ensure each student’s experience at Georgia State is a rewarding one, leading to the successful completion of educational goals.
Winnie Tsang-KosmaI am the Senior Associate Registrar in the Office of the Registrar for the Banner Systems office, the Document Management Center, and the Central Academic Scheduling unit. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University (’91) in Human Sciences as well as a Master’s (’99) and a Ph.D. (’10) degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University. I received the College of Education MSIT department Outstanding Dissertation Award and my dissertation was published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing in February 2011.
Prior to my arrival at Georgia State University, I worked at Georgia Institute of Technology for five years where I was introduced to the Enrollment Services field and the technological change demands for the higher education environment. During my tenure at Georgia State University, I was fortunate to be involved in a variety of major initiatives to ensure the delivery of better service, better data, and better integration by harnessing implemented technology solutions.

Darrick OwensI am an Associate Registrar of Enrollment Services, and the supervisor of the One Stop Shop. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Mississippi (’01) and currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Management from Troy University.
Prior to my arrival at Georgia State University, I worked at Florida State University in Employee Relations and previously played in the National Football League (NFL). In my professional football career, I played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers. I have learned what it means to be a team player and I apply it every day in our Enrollment Service Center and Call Center. The Enrollment Service Center and Call Center is my playing field and I try to assist students, alumni, and staff in winning each day.

Averil G. SmithI am an Associate Registrar in the Office of the Registrar, for the Registration and Compliance Unit. I received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Middle Georgia College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public and Interpersonal Relations from the University of Georgia, and a Master of Science Degree in Post Secondary Education – Instructional Technology from Troy University.
