Not able to see all the button icons via Internet Native Banner (INB) Users must adjust their desktop settings to have INB display correctly. Download instructions to set up optimal desktop settings for INB [PDF].

Mac operating system OS X.2 is a great improvement functioning with Internet Native Banner. All Mac users on campus are highly encouraged to do this upgrade.

MAC users no longer have to use Apple Applet Runner and Classic (OS 9.x). In OS X.2 the Applet runs automatically in the background.

...the PAWS portal?

The PAWS portal is a web application where employees can easily access GoSOLAR, INB, and other GoSOLAR system related links.

...Banner?
Banner is the Student System database that staff use to access student records. Students access the database via Web for Student and faculty access the database via Web for Faculty.
...Internet Native Banner (INB)?

INB is a Java Applet Banner client that runs in a web browser. Users can log directly on to Banner using Internet Explorer or Firefox. You must download and install the JRE (for Windows) or the Macintosh Runtime for Java (for Mac) before you can use INB. Please refer to the "How do I.." section below for INB instructions.

There are three methods for logging onto Banner:

  • Internet Native Banner (INB) http://inb.gosolar.gsu.edu/
  • Log into PAWS at using your Campus ID and password. On the Homepage tab, you will see a list of Applications in the left column. Click the ‘Banner INB’ link.
  • Go to http://www.gosolar.gsu.edu/ and click the Internet Native Banner link.
...JRE/Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ)?

JRE (for Windows)/MRJ (for Mac) is the Java Virtual Machine required to run the INB client. It is a plug-in for your web browser that you must download and install before you can use INB.

...Web for Student?
It is a web product that students can use to view their academic record, financial aid, student account, and register for classes. You can find more instructions on online registration in the Registration Guide section of the Registrar's site.
...Web for Faculty?

It is a web product that faculty can use to view their class roster and assign grades. See the Web for Faculty Quick Guide [PDF] for instructions on how to use GoSolar Web for Faculty.

...BPROD?
BPROD is the Georgia State University Production database where production student data is housed. Employees use this system application to input, update or view student-related data.
...BLAB?
BLAB is the Georgia State University Training database where employees can log on for training to practice their new skills.

User ID and Password

How do I obtain a Banner Production user ID?

What is my Banner user ID?
Your Banner user ID is the same as your campus ID. E-mail bantrain@gsu.edu if you have questions about your Banner user ID.

What are the password guidelines?

The University Auditors have advised that ALL system applications adopt a password policy which forces users to change passwords on a regular basis. In keeping with this recommendation — and in light of the many security issues in the current computing environment — GSU has implemented this policy with the Banner system.

Contact the Banner Systems Office at 404-413-2266 or bantrain@gsu.edu. The Banner office will work with IS&T to verify that the printer is compatible.
