Academic Records FAQ

Academic Records FAQ

How can I request an official copy of my transcript?

For current students, access PAWS with your Campus ID and password. (CampusID is first initial, last name, and usually a number, such as JSmith108. It is the first part of your Georgia State email address, such as JSmith108@student.gsu.edu.)

If you were previously a student and do not have a Campus ID, use GoSOLAR to order a transcript.

How can a third party request a copy of my transcript?

Third parties must send in a written request with the student’s signed release. The third party can mail the request form [PDF] , along with a $10 check or money order and the student’s signed release to:

Office of the Registrar
Georgia State University
P.O. Box 4017
Atlanta, GA 30302

How do I request an enrollment verification?

The easiest way to get your enrollment verification is to print it from the National Student Clearinghouse. You can access your information in their system through PAWS

If you need enrollment verification for health insurance, scholarships, auto insurance, current attendance or past attendance, for which, in some cases, the document printed from the National Student Clearinghouse will not be accepted, you may come into the One Stop Shop at 227 Sparks Hall to request your enrollment verification to be generated manually. You are required to submit documentation from the organization/company requiring this information along with your request.

How can a third party request my enrollment verification?

We are contracted with the National Student Clearinghouse for all third party inquiries. Please visit their website at www.degreeverify.org or call them directly at 703-742-4200.

How do I get my name, social security number, or marital status changed in the system?

For security and legal purposes, a legal document, such as a drivers license, social security card, marriage license, divorce decree, adoption papers, certificate of name change at naturalization, or other court order indicating change of name, must be presented with the official Change of Name, Marital Status, and/or Social Security Number form [PDF].

What do I need to do if my social security number is not in the school’s system?

You will need to bring your original social security card to the One Stop Shop in room 227 Sparks Hall.

Who do I need to contact to have a grade changed?

You will need to contact the professor of the class in question. View our page on Grade Changes for more information.
