Services

The Provost is the chief academic officer and chief operations officer of the University. All of the academic deans and the Vice President for Research and Economic Development and Vice President for Student Affairs report to the Provost. The budgets of these units flow through the Office of the Provost. The provost chairs the University Senate Fiscal Advisory Committee to the President (FACP), the Capital Budget and Space Allocation Committee (CBSAC), the Dean's Council, and the Enrollment Management Subcommittee.

Issues associated with the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty and for the University's promotion and tenure process is under the purview of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs.

Enrollment management, that includes Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, and Student Advisement Center, is the purview of the Associate Provost for Academic Programs.

International Initiatives and Partnerships, International Student & Scholar Services, and study abroad programs are coordinated under the office of the Associate Provost for International Initiatives.

Institutional Effectiveness and the assessment of learning outcomes, academic programs, and administrative support units are the purview of the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness.

Progress on the initiatives of the University's strategic plan, the development of new institutional strategies, programs and units in support of the strategic plan, interdisciplinary activities and innovative ideas, and the recruitment and support of faculty talent falls under the purview of the Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation.

The promotion of the use of innovative technologies in learning research and teaching strategies, the Critical Thinking through Writing Initiative, and the Writing Across the Curriculum program are coordinated under the Center for Instructional Innovation
