Georgia State presidential search underway

Committee seeks nominations

The Georgia State University Presidential Search Committee has reviewed an outstanding pool of potential candidates.  The Committee forwarded a slate of candidates to the Chancellor and Board of Regents for further consideration.  The search continues to be on schedule, and the Chancellor and Board of Regents expect to conduct interviews soon.  We look forward to providing additional information as the search progresses.

Sincerely,
Regent William Cleveland
Chair, Georgia State University Presidential Search Committee

On November 9, 2007, Carl V. Patton announced his plans to retire on June 30, 2008 after 16 years as president of Georgia State University.  On February 5, 2008, the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents announced the appointment of the 20 –member Georgia State University Presidential Search Committee.  Chaired by Regent William Cleveland, the committee includes other Regent members; Georgia State administrators, faculty and staff members and students; alumni and community leaders.

The committee welcomes input from the entire Georgia State University community, and hopes that this Web site will assist in keeping you up-to-date on the progress of the search.

As of March 4, the committee has met twice and also held two campus forums on Feb. 27.  A report on the two forums can be found on the “Forums” link on this Web site.  Applications and nominations are being accepted by the search committee until April 14, 2008.  More information on the application process also is available on this Web site.
