Health Policy Center awarded $9.2M
The Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies was awarded three contracts totaling more than $9.2 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support health care access in the rural United States over the next three to five years.
University Commons named best dorm
The University Commons housing complex at Georgia State University is the "Best overall dorm in the country," according to CampusSplash.com, a website that provides high school and college students news about college life and admissions.
Kudos
The Halle Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to German-American cultural exchange, awarded an $80,000 grant to Georgia State University's Department of Modern and Classical Languages. In addition to supporting the exchange program, the new grant will create a new award, The Halle Foundation Award for Outstanding German Student.
Georgia State's Model African Union delegation was recently named "Outstanding Delegation" at the Model African Union National Competition in Washington.
Geosciences major Demetrice Jordan beat out 300 students nationwide to be selected as one of 14 fellows in the National Institutes of Health–National Cancer Institute's Introduction to Cancer Research Careers.
