Crime Prevention
The Georgia State University Police Department Crime Prevention unit focuses its attention on the following three crime prevention categories:
- Property Security - both private and public property
- Personal Safety
- Training Programs
It is the responsibility of Crime Prevention personnel to keep themselves informed in trends in Crime Prevention, as well as problems on campus, and prepare material to meet these needs and standards. They provide a variety of Crime Prevention programs designed to educate the University's customers about criminal activity and how to respond if they become a victim. These include, but are not limited to:
Also, they are responsible for making sure that all forty nine call boxes, which are located throughout the decks and buildings remain operational to relay their calls to our Communications Unit.
