Regarding Public Safety Employees
The Georgia State University Police Department (GSUPD) seeks to develop a positive and lasting relationship with the University community. GSU officers strive to provide competent and courteous police services that are critical to the achievement of the Department's overall mission for a safe, secure, and enjoyable community in which to live and work.
The integrity of GSUPD is dependent on the ethical behavior and moral fiber of each employee. All members of the University community shall be treated in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner as recipients of varied police services. The Department sincerely realizes that our public image is dependent on the professional manner in which each employee delivers his or her particular level of service. In the spirit of this guiding philosophy, the Police Department does not tolerate any employee who engages in unprofessional conduct toward any member of the University community.
Persons who feel they have been subjected to unprofessional conduct, misuse of force, or breach of individual rights are encouraged to bring these matters of misconduct directly to the attention of the Deputy Chief of Police. Also, those who feel that a Department employee has performed exemplary service should feel free to submit a favorable personnel report to GSUPD.
