Cap and Gown

Students who indicate on their graduation application that they will attend the commencement ceremony will be required to rent regalia from the Georgia State University Bookstore.

At the December 2009 Commencement, the University introduced regalia that has been customized in royal blue with black velvet trim and the University's logo. All degree candidates planning on participating at commencement will be expected to wear the new Georgia State University custom regalia, which is only available through Herff-Jones.

You should order your Official Georgia State University commencement regalia on-line at: www.herffjones.com/college/georgiastate.  Any questions can be directed to the Georgia State University Bookstore at 404/413-9700.

Candidates who do not pre-order regalia should attend Commencement Fair where students can order their cap, gown and hoods.  At Commencement Fair, candidates will be required to give measurements for their regalia. More information will be sent to the degree candidates by the midpoint of their scheduled semester of graduation. If students change their minds and decide to attend the ceremony, they should notify the Graduation Office at 75 Piedmont Avenue, Suite 1190 no later than April 12, 2013.

Hoods

Ph.D. candidates will be hooded during the commencement ceremony (May 10, 2013). You may purchase your hood through the Georgia State University Bookstore.  Ph.D. candidates must bring their hoods to the ceremony.
