Mega Globe Trekker

Noon - 1:30 p.m. Student Center – Speaker’s Auditorium

It’s never too early to begin exploring the exciting possibilities of study abroad, so attend a Globe Trekker seminar during Panther Welcome! At the seminar, you will receive a Compass Handbook, which outlines the necessary forms you’ll need to complete, and you will learn how to select and apply for a program, how to have your coursework transferred back to Georgia State, and how to line up financial aid and scholarships. You’ll also learn about our exciting Fall 2011 events, including How to Afford Study Abroad workshops, the Study Abroad Fair, and the annual Crossing Paths, Crossing Cultures International Photo Competition and Exhibit! Fall HIV Testing Kick-Off

Noon – 4 p.m. Citizen’s Trust Building – 240

Your body. Your knowledge. Your status! Student Health Promotion will kick off its free, confidential HIV testing service this fall during Panther Welcome. The test is quick and easy and you will get your results in about 30 minutes. Testing is done by appointment only. Veteran’s Mixer

Noon – 1:30 p.m. Veteran’s Memorial Hall

This event is designed to introduce student veterans to resources on campus that are available to them. Come meet your fellow student veterans, faculty and staff from around the campus community who are here to support you through your college experience. You'll be surprised at the number of student veterans attending Georgia State. All students are welcome! The Fresh Start

6:30 – 8 p.m. Student Center Ballroom

Ready to jumpstart your first year of college? Join your fellow freshmen for an evening of mix and mingle capped off with a dynamic keynote presentation by motivational speaker Justin Jones-Fosu. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about the secrets of a successful college career. For more information, contact Student Activities.

 

Cinema Under the Stars: THOR

7 – 9 p.m. Urban Life Plaza

A one-night only special event where we take the movie-going experience from the theater to the great outdoors. Students will be able to purchase popcorn and a drink for $1. This event is free for all Georgia State University students.
