Fire Safety: Think you can P.A.S.S.
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. – Unity Plaza, Student Center
Do you know how to avoid and prevent dorm room and workplace fires? If a fire were to occur, would you know what to do or how to use your fire extinguisher? Come join the Office of Emergency Management’s Fire Safety program for food, fun and interactive games about fire safety!
College Fair on the Plaza
Noon - 1 p.m. – Library Plaza
Come join the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Health and Human Sciences, and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business for a college fair in Library Plaza. Hosted by each college’s Office of Academic Assistance, the fair gives students a chance to find out about various programs and majors within each college and get answers to general questions about policies and procedures specific to each college. Please note, this is not a time for students to receive specific academic advisement. For more information contact the Office of New Student Programs and Parent Relations.
Click-it or Ticket-it Safe Driving Program
10 a.m. - Noon – S, K, N Decks
The Click-it or Ticket-it team, composed of students, staff and faculty, will be stationed at parking decks around campus to welcome students to campus, educate them on seatbelt use, and reward those who are safely buckled up. Student Leadership Panel
Noon – 12:45 p.m. – Student Center, Lucerne Suite
Come out and meet current GSU student leaders. Students will receive information on what student organizations are available and how to get connected to the campus community.
4th Annual Georgia State Idol
7 - 9 p.m. – Rialto Center for the Arts
Could there be a Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia or Kris in our midst? Who’s going to be the next big thing? To find out, Georgia State is hosting its own version of the mega TV hit, American Idol! Come out and see our talented contestants (chosen at the Aug. 19 & 20 auditions) as they sing for the coveted title of Georgia State Idol!
