Ask Me Booths

8 a.m. - 6 p.m. – Different locations around campus

Trying to find your way around? Stop by one of the Ask Me Booths located around campus during the first week of classes. Faculty, staff and students will be on hand to guide you with directions and maps, plus you’ll get a Georgia State freebie!

Mega-One-Stop-Shop

8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. – Student Center Ballroom

The Mega-One-Stop-Shop is a centralized enrollment services center where new students can receive assistance with all their enrollment needs, as well as additional support for getting off to a successful start at Georgia State. Services include: One Stop Shop, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Academic Information, Immunization, University Housing, Ask-Me-Booth, Auxiliary and Support Services Information, Bookstore, Registrar, and IS&T.

Face-to-Face: How to Meet with Your Professors

11 a.m. - Noon – Student Center, Lanier Suite

Positive relationships with professors can help you make better use of your study time, increase your probability of earning a higher grade, and aid in forging career connections. This interactive workshop is designed to give you the tools to improve your interactions with professors. Topics will include proper etiquette, faculty expectations and sample questions to ask when meeting with professors.

Ice Cream, You Scream ... we all scream for the Panthers

Noon - 1 p.m. – Library Plaza

Come out and meet the 2009-10 Panther student-athletes, coaches and cheerleaders as they give out water, ice cream and other Panther Prizes.

Fight-to-Flight Self Defense Program

3 - 6 p.m. – 2nd Floor, Student Recreation Center, Martial Arts Room

Fight-to-Flight is designed to educate female students on techniques that will help them prevent and escape from an attack against their person. Taught by certified police officers and martial artists. Wear comfortable clothes and bring lots of energy. For more information contact University Police.

Meet the Sororities and Fraternities (NPHC and MGC councils)

6 - 8 p.m. - Student Center, Speaker’s Auditorium

Fraternities and sororities are an integral part of student life at Georgia State. Join us to find out how you can be part of a legacy that has created campus leaders for more than 50 years. You will learn about the many opportunities that sororities and fraternities have to offer, meet chapter members, and find out about the membership recruitment and intake processes.
