A leading research university in Atlanta, Georgia

News

2013 is a special year for Georgia State University as we celebrate our 100 year anniversary, and Panther Dining will host a week-long commemorative event.  The week’s theme will be “Embracing the Past, Celebrating the Future” and will highlight food inspired by eras throughout the past 100 years.

This event will take place during dinner the week of March 4th-8th.

On Monday, we will focus on the time period between 1913 and the 1930’s, Tuesday will usher in the 40’s and 50’s, Wednesday will be the 60’s and 70’s, Thursday the 80’s and 90’s, and Friday will celebrate the present.

The celebration will not only feed the body, but also the mind as we spotlight historical milestones, trends, and GSU’s progress over the past century.  Panther Dining knows that education takes place both in and outside of the classroom and this event will act in accordance with Georgia State’s Mission Statement, as it will “develop, transmit, and utilize knowledge… to prepare citizens for lifelong learning”.

So whether you are hungry for great food or nostalgia, please join us as we celebrate great food and those people and events that have gone before us and made possible what we are today.
