Student Support Services
We offer one-on-one academic, personal, or career counseling to students. Our academic counseling is tailored to fit the individual needs of each student and can include such issues as test anxiety, test taking strategies, time management, and study skills. They also offer personal or career counseling. This service is available to students for as long as they are enrolled at Georgia State University and in Student Support Services.
Tutoring is offered in a variety of subject areas including: Math, English, Biology, Chemistry, and Regent's Test Review. Tutors are graduate and/or upper level undergraduate students with extensive knowledge and expertise in the subjects they tutor. Other subjects may be offered depending on availability. Tutoring is available on a weekly appointment, as needed or walk-in basis. Please check each semester for any updates of new classes and tutors that are available.
Computer Tech Lab
The SSS computer lab is reserved and available only to program participants. Students have internet access and a wide range of software to accommodate their academic needs. Students are also allowed limited free prints and copies per semester.
Financial Assistance, which includes Grant Aid and Scholarships, is available to eligible program participants during the Spring semesters.
SSS Workshops & Cultural Activities
SSS workshops and cultural activities are offered throughout the entire school year. These workshops and activities cover a wide variety of topics which, in turn, help students in their academics as well as personal lives.
