Student Support Services - STEM
- Individual & Group Tutoring
Participants are offer individualized tutoring sessions to all of our participants. We have a great team of dedicated and personable tutors who strive to help each student excel academically. Group tutoring sessions are available upon request.
- Academic Advisement
We monitor our students’ progress as they matriculate through their academic studies. Individual academic assessments are a key feature of this program in which each student is given individual advisement solely on their major and career goals.
- Community Service Learning Projects
We encourage students with opportunities to contribute to Georgia State University and the greater Atlanta area through active volunteer programs. Our students serve as tutors and role models for younger students in the Atlanta area.
- Financial Aid Assistance
Grant aid is available to eligible students. Furthermore, we actively inform students about possible scholarships and fellowships that are available here at Georgia State University and outside of the university.
- Workshops
Our workshops are academically and culturally enriching. During our workshops students learn how to become viable candidates for graduate programs as well as the work force.
- Career Exploration & Development
Academic maps are created for each student based on their individual career choices. Students are provided with information to assist them during their academic journey.
- Field Trips
Hands-on interactive field trips are a great addition to the SSS-STEM Program. Students go behind the scenes and learn what it’s like to really work in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field at places like the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Aquarium, GE Smart Grid Technology Center, and the Georgia State Visualization Wall to name a few.
- Computer Lab with Free Printing & Scanning
Students have access to free internet, printing, and scanning services.
