Performing & Visual Arts Council

A new initiative of OAASS&P, the African American Cultural Performing and Visual Arts Council, PVAC, was founded during the spring of 2009, under the direction of Dr. Doris A. Derby, to provide a vehicle for Georgia State University students interested in expanding their horizons and skills in the arts. PVAC consists of student organizations including Conscious Collective, Black Student Alliance, NCNW, NAACP and MEISA, with OAASS&P in collaboration with its Civic Partners including Theatre South Atlanta, and Hispanola Productions. PVAC accomplishes its vision and goals by presenting skill development workshops, play readings, music and entertainment programs, and much more.
