ATLANTA — Georgia State University undergraduates and faculty sponsors should be ready by the end of January to prepare and submit proposals for research and scholarly projects to be presented at the 2012 Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC).
The deadline for proposal submission and faculty sponsorship forms is 5 p.m. on Feb. 1. Forms and guidelines for proposals are available online at http://www.gsu.edu/gsurc/22333.html.
The conference will be held March 21 at the Student Center, with poster and oral sessions and artistic displays presented from 9 to 11:15 a.m. The keynote address will be held in the Speaker’s Auditorium from 11:30 a.m. to 12: 15 p.m.
Last year’s winners included:
• 1st place poster presentation and Provost's Award: Nicole Dingels, nutrition
• 1st place oral presentation: Gretchen Lawhorn, art history
• 1st place artistic presentation: Pattie Acevedo and Blacki Li Miglozzi, graphic design
• 2nd place poster presentation: Thomas Polstra, mathematics
• 2nd place oral presentation: Tyler Theus, communication
• 3rd place poster presentation: Eva Jones, Alexis Kelley, Andrew Matey, Chinwe Ohanu, Eleanor Carr, Joanna Farah, Kamica Ross, Obiannauju Nduka and Renee Johnson; nursing
• 3rd place oral presentation: Isaac Boring, economics
