Carter Presidential Library to host book signing by new Arts and Sciences dean

ATLANTA – The World Affairs Council of Atlanta and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library will host William J. Long, the newly appointed dean of Georgia State University’s College of Arts and Sciences, on Wednesday, June 29 to discuss and sign his new book, “Pandemics and Peace: Public Health Cooperation in Zones of Conflict.”

The event will be held at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum and will begin at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend, but advance registration is requested at www.wacatl.gsu.edu. The book will be available for purchase at the event.

“Pandemics and Peace” is Long’s fourth book. He also is author of “War and Reconciliation,” “Economic Incentives and Bilateral Cooperation,” and “U.S. Export Control Policy: Executive Autonomy Versus Congressional Reform.” Long will join GSU from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was chair of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.

The World Affairs Council of Atlanta is a non-partisan organization affiliated with Georgia State University, the J. Mack Robinson College of Business and the World Affairs Councils of America. Its mission is to provide a forum for dialogue, a source of expertise and an engine for research on international affairs and global issues.
