Networking Opportunities
Anyone who has ever looked for a job knows that a network — of friends, family, acquaintances, former employers and colleagues — is your best tool to find the right job right away. Georgia State offers several opportunities to get your network clicking.
Career Conversations
Employer representatives from various career fields are invited to participate in dialogues with students regarding specific career topics. Subjects include: future employment trends, educational requirements, salary potential and career opportunities. Students are encouraged to ask questions and enter into informal conversation.
Career Fairs
Career fairs are opportunities for students to learn more about future employment and begin a networking system for internships, full-time positions, and summer employment opportunities. These events are effective methods for employers to connect with new talent and acquaint students with a variety of opportunities.
Employer Information Sessions
Representatives of organizations wishing to recruit Georgia State students hold sessions at University Career Services (UCS) to describe their organizations and opportunities. While many of these sessions are in preparation for their day of campus interviewing, they welcome interested students who are just seeking information.
Professional Organizations
One way to build your network is by joining professional organizations. As the business center of the Southeast, Atlanta boasts chapters of some of the most prestigious professional organizations in the country, many of which invite students to participate.
