10 Mistakes Leaders Make

A good leader learns from the mistakes of others. This program will highlight the top 10 mistakes that leaders make and will discuss how to overcome these mistakes to become an effective leader.

Understanding Organizational Culture
Thursday, February 7, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. – Society Program
Individuals are most successful in organizations that share similar values and beliefs.  This session will explore common organizational cultures to help participants identify those cultures most suited to them.

Making Your NetWORK

To get the most from your college experience, you need to take advantage of opportunities to connect with others and build your network.  This session will introduce innovative ways of connecting with others to help you get to the next level in your professional career.

Successful organizations recognize how important it is for each member to be an active part of the team.  In this session, you will learn a variety of team building exercises to help strengthen your teams!

Change is an inevitable part of life, but we can work on how we deal with it.  This session will help you recognize your approach to change and provide you with strategies to better manage future changes.

Developing Socially Responsible Leadership

What does it mean to answer to a triple bottom line? In this session, we will discuss the responsibility leaders have for the ways in which their decisions impact others.

Relationship Building through Active Listening

Failure to really listen to others is a common communication problem.  In this session, you will learn how active listening can strengthen relationships and help you become an effective leader.

Creating Positive Change

Are you passionate about a cause, but not sure how you can really make a difference?  This session will introduce you to an eight-step process for creating positive change and you will leave with an action plan for positive change.

Leaders are able to envision the future and consider new possibilities, but they are limited if they cannot inspire others with their vision.  This session will explore ideas to help you share your vision with others.

Character: Understanding Your True Self

Character is often defined as how you act when no one else is watching.  In this session, we’ll discuss what it means to have character and how it influences your actions and decisions.

Successful teams recognize the different strengths that each member brings to the group. This session will explore the different roles of team members and identify strategies for working with difficult team members.
