Kyle Stapleton
Class of: 2009
Hometown and High School: Fayetteville, GA; Fayette County High School
Major/Minor: Marketing/undeclared
I chose to attend Georgia State University because of my longstanding love affair with Atlanta, of the outstanding reputation of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, and of the unparalleled networking opportunities.
Campus Activities and Organizations: Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society, Emerging Leaders Mentor, Community of Scholars, Honors Program, American Marketing Association … and Georgia State’s Most Eligible Bachelor
Most Memorable Georgia State experience: There are honestly so many, but I would have to say that I enjoyed the Midnight Dodgeball tournament at the Village Rec Center. The energy of it was so great and the place absolutely lit up when my team won in dramatic fashion. It was early on during my very first semester here and it was one of the first times I remember looking at someone and saying, “Man … I love college.”
If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be and why? More than likely Bugs Bunny … he’s suave, confident, unfazed, intelligent, witty, charming, and always one step ahead of the game.
Favorite Georgia State tradition: I’m a big fan of the Emerging Leaders program! I was an Emerging Leader in the fall of 2005 and I’m now a mentor for the program. It’s one of the best opportunities on campus to really get involved straight out of high school and meet lots of people to whom you grow very close…most of my best friends on campus were, at some point, involved with the program.
What advice would you give to incoming students? GO TO CLASS! It’s that simple. Other than that, try to meet as many new people as you can and have as much fun as you possibly can… you’re only in college once, and you’re presented with a tremendous and unique opportunity because of everything that both Georgia State and Atlanta have to offer.
After I graduate from Georgia State, I hope to spend every day of my life in pursuit of the American dream … and make lots of money.
